About this blog

These are all original case digests or case briefs done while the author was studying law school in the Philippines.

Hopefully these digested cases will help you get a good grasp of the salient facts and rulings of the Supreme Court in order to have a better understanding of Philippine Jurisprudence.

Please forgive any typo/grammatical errors as these were done while trying to keep up with the hectic demands brought about by the study of law.

God bless!

UPDATE:
Since the author is now a lawyer, this blog will now include templates of Philippine legal forms for your easy reference. This blog will be updated daily.

Thank you for the almost 500k views :)

Law Professors and their idiosyncrasies (and the lessons I learned)

By now, having just finished by third year, 1st semester of law school, I can share to you the different personalities of teachers and what gets me and what doesn't. Basically, I'm here to vent about my feelings about my teachers.

1. Professor 1: P1 was on the run of being my favorite teacher of all time. P1 told the class I was the only one who impressed him in recitations, the only one who passed his very particular quizzes and exams. But guess what my final grade is? the same as all of my classmates, a bare passing mark.

Lessons Learned:
a.. Never let your guard down. Be consistent in your effort. The problem of relying too much on your teacher's perception of you will make you lax and not be as consistent. Granted, I could have gotten more but I get why I got only a bare passing mark. I deserved it. It may even be a grant of mercy given I was 3 points away from passing in my final examinations.

b. Final examinations is the most important exam you need to pass. Just think of it as the bar examinations itself. It wont matter if you did great in the midterms, it would be like passing the mock bar exams. The bar examination itself will be the only exam that matters. Corollary to that, the final examination is the only thing that matters.

2. Professor 2: P2 is a member of the Justice Department. He has this thing about making the coverage for every recitation as vast as possible (as vast as the coverage of the midterm examinations, more or less). You'll always feel you lack the necessary time to cover everything and mind you, its not a trick, he will ask you the questions you would not have the humanly power to cover.

Lesson Learned:
a. Know your teachers. If you already know his style (Believe me, i know, I've been under him for 2 subjects now and has always given a sub-par performance), deal with his style. Well, it is so much easier said than done but that's it. Read in advance, Read in the semestral break if you must because you won't have time to deal with him given the fact that you REALLY have to deal with a LOT of other subjects come battle time.

To be continued...
